The Seasons - Winter/Geimhreadh
 
Here I have created the four seasons in textiles and given each their Irish name. Each art piece is based on my photo taken in  Mullaghmeen Woods near Oldcastle in Co. Meath. They show the changing colours of the season and creatures associated with it in fabric, dyes and stitch..
 
Each piece is created using batik techniques on cotton and then printed with my design and finally stitched by machine and hand embroidery. A layer of wadding is added to create a relief effect after stitching.
